Baars steps up to face Garnett for women’s welterweight crown

England’s Helene Garnett will challenge for the vacant ISKA Ladies World Welterweight title on Sunday 29th March at the Octagon Centre in Sheffield.

Garnett was scheduled to face Laetitia Bakissy of France but Bakissy and her team failed to communicate with the promoters which promted them to seek a new opponent. Jorina Baars from the Netherlands stepped up, she fights out of the Team Schrijber based in Amsterdam. Baars is undefeated with a record of 22-0-2 she is a former 2 time Dutch Champion 3 time European Champion and a current Muaythai World Champion. Garnett is also a European Champion and undefeated 11-0 this promises to be an explosive match.

On the supporting card British Champion Mehdi Froozi will face Northern Area Champion Shaun Lomas to contest the vacant ISKA Commonwealth Super-middleweight Muaythai title.     KRUSH 18 staged at Korakeun Hall, Tokyo on the 3rd May by Good Loser Productions, featured an international prestige match between England’s Reece Crooke and Japanese rising star Shota Takiya. Crooke on the comeback trail was trying to fight his way into the World’s top ten, Takiya was not going to give up his spot. Read more
