Clean sweep for East Area Thaiboxers

A full house of excited Muay Thai fans witnessed an incredible night of fighting at an outstanding event presented by Bedford’s Nigel Thompson and the East Area Thai Kickboxing gym at the Bedford Corn Exchange on the 26th October

The ISKA British Middleweight title under Oriental Rules was contested Russell Goodwin from Eagles Gym and East Area’s Mark Baxter. Mark dominated the fight and entertained his huge group of supporters. Marklistened well to his corner men and demolished his opponent winning the title on points and is now the new British Champion at 75kgs.

East Area’s Anthony Ferguson Faced Kevin Kovalik from Wu Tan Gym, the two fighters
met in the ring to contest the ISKA British Lightweight title OR . The home crowd made a deafening noise as Anthony entered the ring in his usual strong and confident manner. Anthony’s strength continued throughout the fight as he dominated his opponent and rained down hard and powerful punches. Anthony won by TKO in the 5th round. Anthony is now the new ISKA British Champion at 60kgs.Big thanks to all at ISKA.A massive well done to all the fighters who put on an incredible performance in the ring and kept us all entertained. The boys made us all proud!

East Area’s John Hasell took on Michael Chong for the ISKA Southern area Light-welterweight title OR 64.5kg. John’s hardcore training and good technique paid off. His slick and powerful kicks ensured he finished the fight ahead on points and was declared the winner. Another belt for the East Area camp.

    KRUSH 18 Takiya KO’s Crooke

    KRUSH 18 staged at Korakeun Hall, Tokyo on the 3rd May by Good Loser Productions, featured an international prestige match between England’s Reece Crooke and Japanese rising star Shota Takiya. Crooke on the comeback trail was trying to fight his way into the World’s top ten, Takiya was not going to give up his spot. Read more
