ISKA Disciplinary Action
Wesley McKay has been suspended from fighting on ISKA UK sanctioned events for 12 months for failing to disclose the correct result of last contest at a pre-fight medical and breaking a 28 day medical suspension.
McKay fought on the 24th February and was stopped in the second round he would have automatically received a 28 day medical suspension he then accepted a fight on the 22nd March without informing the promoter or the fight Doctor the result of his last contest, he was stopped again in the second round. This only came to light when the results for the second fight were published and the sanctioning body for the first fight declared the result and pointed out that McKay should not have fought on the March event. An investigation was launched by ISKA UK who sanctioned the March event after two TKO defeats inside 28 day McKay was given a 90 day Medical suspension. The records of the per-fight medical were checked and McKay had not declared the TKO loss of his previous contest. Not only did Mc Kay put his own health at risk but also the reputation of the promoter, the sanctioning body and the sport as a whole. McKay’s suspension will be in force for the 29th April 2008 until the 28th April 2009 he will have the right to appeal.
Luke Sines has received a 6 month disciplinary suspension for breach of contract. Sines entered into a written agreement with promoter Steven Gosden to fight on his 12th April show in Hove Town Hall. Sines pulled out of the show giving less than 30 notice stating work and family commitments as reasons for not fighting. Gosden claimed Sines reasons were not valid and he was in breach of contract and took his claim to several sanctioning bodies. ISKA UK looked into the dispute and supported Gosdens claim if you sign a contract with a promoter and don’t full fill the terms of the agreement there will be consequences. Sines Suspension will run for the 29th April 2008 to the 28th October 2008 he will have the right to appeal.
