ISKA English Amateur Championships and European Qualifiers 2009

The ISKA English Championships will be held on Sunday 29th March 2009 at the Crystal Leisure Centre, Bell Street in Stourbridge, West Midlands. The English Championships is an annual event used to select members of ISKA Team England to compete in International Competitions such as European and World Championships. This year the European Championships will be held in the fantastic eternal City of Rome, Italy.

The selection process will be as follows:

Gold medal winners in all divisions will automatically qualify provided they attend squad training.
Silver and Bronze medal winners will be put forward to squad training for selection by the National Coach of that discipline. Team England are allowed to enter 2 competitors per division into the European Championships.

Team England have 2 competitors defending their European titles this year in Men’s Semi-Contact +91kg division and Men’s Light-Contact -63.5kg division. This will mean that we can only enter 1 more competitor in these two divisions.

Squad training organized to build team spirit and bonding between members and coach has been very effective and has had a positive effect on the team.ISKA Team England won 42 Gold, 32 Silver and 42 Bronze at last year’s World Championships and had a fantastic team spirit between all disciplines.

The disciplines open to competitors of the qualifiers are:
