KBX Super 8 change of date and venue
KBX Super 8 was scheduled for the 13th July at Aston Event Centre in Birmingham has now been moved to 27th July at the Civic Hall, Wolverhampton. Aston Event Centre is being renovated and there was no guarantee it would be ready for July.
Still confirmed to take part in the eight man middleweight tournament are Lex Eadon, John Orchard and Fran Zuccala they have been joined by Oliver Walsh, Jason Curtis and David Lockwood. Ricky Gammon has switched to MMA and Brian Aston is considering retirement after his recent failed bid to regain the ISKA Super-middleweight World title neither of them will now take part in KBX SUPER 8. With no other British fighters stepping up to the challenge it is likely the two remaining tournament slots will go to foreign fighters. Invitations have been sent to Frenchmen Marc Apele and Willy Borrel and Germans Jens Lintow and Dominick Haselbeck all of them World Champions. Anyone of them will bring an extra dimension to the tournament which is already stacked with talent and the potential for explosive fights. Mick Crossland who couldn’t make the 75kg weight limit to enter the tournament will defend his ISKA English Super-middleweight title against Ronnie Hogan. Lightweight standout Qasim Nisar is also slated to fight on the supporting card. The full line up including the tournament draw will be posted on http://www.axkickboxing.com.
