McCafferty writes his page in the history books

Two times World Champion Tommy McCafferty may have confirmed his status as one of the great World Champions. In the first defence of his ISKA World Middleweight Kickboxing title he dominated former undisputed three times World Champion Dominic Haselbeck in Germany on the 5th December.

In recent times only a small number of the many World Kickboxing Champions from the alphabet soup of sanctioning bodies choose to defend their titles, usually the paper champions moved on the next Mickey Mouse title with a hand -picked opponent. Ireland’s Tommy McCafferty has chosen the route of a real World Champion first by winning titles with a credible organisation them agreeing to defend away from home against the strongest fighter in his division.

The Challenger Dominic Haselbeck, who had captured all three major world titles with ISKA, WKA and WAKO-PRO and held them simultaneously, was hoping to regain the ISKA Middleweight title, but McCafferty was on fire and dominated the twelve round contest to retain his title by unanimous decision.

On the same event ISKA European Champion Johannes Wolfe of Germany defeated Russian Shamraj to take the ISKA World Featherweight Kickboxing title.
