Muaythai Superfights 08 cancelled
Showsport International have been forced to cancel Muaythai Superfights 08 scheduled for the 30th November at Wolverhampton Civic Hall due to the effects of the civil unrest in Thailand
Top of the bill Dominic Zidov, who lives and trains in Thailand, is stuck in Koh Samui, unable to leave the country because of the continuing occupation of the main airports by the People’s Alliance for Democracy.
Frantic efforts were made to get Zidov to the UK by other means, he was willing to travel 20 hours by bus to Singapore but the only flight available would have got him into London at 5.00 am on the fight day, even if he had of avoided any delays he wouldn’t have been in a fit state to fight the same night.
Efforts to find a replacement for Zidov were fruitless. Two fighters had also pulled out of the supporting card with injuries including Greg Severs. With no opponent for Peter Crooke and the supporting card disintegrating the promoter was left with no choice but to cancel.
Tickets refunds will be available at the point of purchase
