New K-1 MAX 63kg division
On Sunday May 2nd at the JCB Hall in Suidobashi, the first 63-kilo event, titled "K-1 WORLD MAX 2010 -63kg Japan Tournament 1st Round", will commence!
K-1 Event Producer Sadaharu “Tany” Tanikawa talked about how excited he was about the new series at the press conference in Tokyo. “The 63-kilo class has the highest concentration of champions in Japan! You can expect the kind of excitement fans felt when MAX first started with Masato, Kohi, Genki, and Murahama.” When asked why there were 10 fights instead of the typical 8, Tany replied, “There were just too many good fighters!” Of the ten winners, eight will be chosen to compete in the next elimination in July. They will chosen according to how they perform in the K-1 ring. The line-up will include ISKA World Champion Daisuke Uematsu.
