ISKA UK Business as usual for First Quarter
ISKA continues as the UK’s number one sanctioning body, regulating 21 events in the first quarter of 2011 including 2 World title and 3 European title fights. Despite the government’s austerity cuts and the uncertain financial climate promoters are still packing them in venues across the UK.
Paddy Toland promoted the ISKA heavyweight Kickboxing Championship in Derry, Northern Ireland, Daniel Quigley outpointed French Champion Pascome Assi in a highly charged 12 round battle. New promoters also joined the ranks, Matt and James Winsper staged a British Championship card at Kidderminster Town Hall and Muaythai World Champions Andy Howson and Liam Harrison promoter their first ISKA Championship card at the Hilton hotel in Leeds both event where successful and more show are planned.
The re-structuring of ISKA Europe is slow but sure and has produced more opportunities for our World and European Champions to defend their titles abroad with growth in activity across Europe and the World. Jordan Watson, Marlon Hunt and Sean Bowman have been offered title defenses and Ronnie Clark, Andrew Tate, David McIntosh and Natalie McCarron have been offered title shots in Europe.
