ISKA UK solid fourth quarter to end 2010
ISKA UK sanctioned 30 events in the last quarter of 2010 with a total of 29 title fights including 3 World title fights. It was a fitting end to another record breaking year which saw ISKA UK sanction a total for 97 events.
Allen Keddle promoted a World Championship card on the 23rd October at the City Pavilion in Romford, Essex. Rob Storey outpointed Frenchman Mikael Peynaud to take the ISKA World Lightweight Muaythai title and ISKA European Champion Alexis Roufus claimed the Ladies ISKA World Bantamweight Muaythai title with a first round stoppage of the French challenger Malika Metchkoun.
An ISKA World Championship match headlined MUAYTHAI SUPERFIGHTS at the Doug Ellis Sports Centre in Birmingham on the 20th November. England’s Brightest Muaythai star Jordan Watson stepped up to challenge for the ISKA World Super- welterweight title, he was slated to face Japan’s Shinya Ishige but he withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Nakagawa Toshiya. Watson put on a Muaythai clinic dominating Toshiya to win by a clear unanimous decision.
The new ISKA UK Amateur management team made an impressive debut at the ISKA Amateur World Championship in Alicante, Spain 2nd to 7th November bringing home 31 Gold, 25 silver and 26 bronze medals.
The last quarter also featured 7 MMA events bringing the total MMA events sanction in 2010 to 25. On the 14th November at Liquid Rotherham Wayne Murrie won the ISKA MMA British Welterweight title with a spectacular head Kick KO against Mok Rahman just 8 seconds into the first round watch it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ryuETV3oM
