ISKA World title fights trill a capacity crowd at Korakuen Hall Tokyo
KRUSH 11 staged at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan on the 14th August featured two ISKA World Championship matches as the co-main events. The ISKA World bantamweight and Super-Lightweight titles will be contested under Oriental/K-1 rules. KRUSH is one of Japan’s leading kickboxing promotions.
All Japan and RISE Bantamweight Champion Nobuchika Terado face Scotland’s Kieran McAskill the ISKA British and Commonwealth Champion to contest the ISKA World Bantamweight title. McAskill a Muaythai stylist struggled with the tempo of K-1 rules, Terado was just too quick for the Scotsman, landing painfully accurate leg kicks, Terado had McAskill in trouble and relentlessly attacked his legs, knocking down several times, McAskill bravely fought on going the distance. Terado won by unanimous decision.
Keiji Ozaki who took third place in last year’s K-1MAX 63kg GP and won the RISE Tournament faced French Champion Thomas Adamandopoulus to contest the vacant ISKA World Super-lightweight title. Adamandopoulus had a good start, but in the second round an attack from Ozaki caused him to slip, the referee called it a knockdown and gave a count. This made the Frenchman raise his game, he put Ozaki under heavy fire scoring strong punches and leg kicks overpowering him for the rest of the fight to win a unanimous decision. The Championships matches will be broadcast by Japanese cable TV company GAORA TV
