‘TNT’ looks for another Dynamite KTMMA performance!

When the unique KTMMA fight format was launched with Showcase in 2013, veteran Muay Thai specialist and ISKA World Champion Tim ‘TNT’ Thomas topped the bill, beat the enigmatic Japanese knockout specialist Takashi Nakagawa with a totally dominant performance that cemented his reputation as a fighter of consistent quality.

Well Thomas is topping the bill second time around and once again faces an International opponent at the Porchester Hall. This time around Thomas faces James “whitey” Warren from Oklahoma USA, a man with only one professional defeat on his record.
Thomas is known as a superb stand-up fighter and was expected to be dominant in his opening round against Nakagawa. It was the second round, however, that everyone was anticipating, believing that the battered Nakagawa would take him to the canvas and test TNT’s ground-game. A mixture of a solid sprawl defence by Thomas and Nakagawa’s desire to keep the fight upright meant that the test never really came. This time around things will almost certainly be different as the twenty-eight year old Warren is a submission specialist and it is very unlikely that he will make the same mistake as Nakagawa.

This throws up a truly intriguing contest as Warren’s only defeat came by way of KO, something that Thomas is more than capable of delivering. Thomas, however, showed his reluctance to go to ground in the second round even when he had the opportunity for a solid mount attack, preferring to bring the fight back to its feet. If Warren reaches the second round Thomas will be facing a man looking for the submission and more than capable of delivering it.
My prediction is Thomas round 1 by stoppage, Warren round 2 by submission unless of course either man has a trick up his sleeve!
