Gaynor Morgan Sports Award
On 3rd February ISKA Amateur European Champion, Gaynor Morgan, who took gold in the Light Contact at last year’s European Championships in Italy was nominated along with 20 other young ladies for the Peterborough Evening Telegraph Sports Woman of the Year Awards.
This event is about highlighting the talent, dedication and commitment of our sports people and the night proved that martial arts have all these in abundance. Gaynor was just piped at the post by weight lifting British and World Champion, Louise Fox, who is also a British Olympic hopeful, receiving the runners up award.
Gaynor said, “I feel privileged to be nominated for the award and grateful for everyone who has supported me. I am happy and appreciative to have been part of the top three. I wish Louise well, she was a worthy winner and I wish her the best for the future. But in the words of Arnie Schwarzenegger, I’ll be back”!!

Women’s World Championship Kickboxing
The Women’s ISKA Atom-weight World Kickboxing title under Full Contact rules was contested in Dijon, France by Maria Krivoshapkina (Russia) and Melanie Bony (France).Maria has a 10-2-0 pro record and 120-30-0 amateur record. She is WAKO amator European and world champion in freestyle kickboxing. Melanie has a 24-6-0 pro record, she is French and European champion in Savate. Read more

KRUSH 18 Takiya KO’s Crooke
KRUSH 18 staged at Korakeun Hall, Tokyo on the 3rd May by Good Loser Productions, featured an international prestige match between England’s Reece Crooke and Japanese rising star Shota Takiya. Crooke on the comeback trail was trying to fight his way into the World’s top ten, Takiya was not going to give up his spot. Read more
