ISKA UK Rule changes effective from the 1st June

Rules changes agreed by the ISKA UK Board of Directors become effective from the 1st June 2009. Spinning Back Fist will be reinstated for kickboxing matches from B class. There will be serious penalties for misuse of the technique, connecting with anything other than the knuckle part of the glove could result in an immediate minus point.

Nine rounds for a British title Kickboxing match will also be reinstated, some of the first ISKA British titles ever contested where over nine rounds, with the improving general standard of Kickboxing the board felt it was time to raise the bar again. National titles (English, Scottish and Welsh) will be extended to seven rounds, regional titles will remain at five rounds. The Minimum Kick Count rule will be replaced by the Continual Kicking Rule, both contestants will be expected to attempt kicking attacks throughout the round If a contestant kicks ten times in the first thirty seconds, and does not kick for the next ninety seconds, they haven’t adhered to the Continual Kicking Rule and will receive a public warning for the referee. As always the scoring criteria for kickboxing will favour the kicker.

All fighters competing in all disciplines on ISKA sanctioned events will have to produce a valid license from their club/gym or association that includes a fight record. Failure to do so could result in their match being cancelled, any attempt to misrepresent or not fully disclose a fight record could result in disciplinary action and possible suspension from competing on ISKA sanctioned events.
