The Homecoming, ISKA Championship Thaiboxing
Paul Beaty made a return to promoting after a long break, staging The Homecoming at the Liverpool Olympia on the 10th October. The card featured three ISKA title fights and was enthusiastically received by a decent sized audience.
Purdie v McDonough
The ISKA English Light-Welterweight Muaythai title 64.5kg was contested by Tom McDonough (Luuksit TBC), trained by Brian Goodall and Mark Purdie of (Mersey Thai) trained by Paul Beaty. Purdie got the upper hand in the first round dropping McDonough near the end of the round. McDonough fought back bravely in the second to stay in the fight scoring a head kick and some accurate low kicks. Purdie dominated the third stalking and connecting with the more telling blows. More of the same in the fourth and in the fifth Purdie scored another knock down with a low kick to confirm a clear point victory.
Baugh v Robinson
David Hammond (Mersey Thai) won the ISKA Northern Area Super-welterweight Oriental Rules title 69.9kg in a tough five round contest against Mark Skeer (Salford Thai), trained by Darren Morris.
The ISKA Ladies Super-bantamweight North West Area Oriental Rules title 56.5kg was skilfully contested by Laura Baugh (Mersey Thai) and Cassie Robinson (Salford Thai) From a slow start Baugh came through to win a points decision.

Women’s World Championship Kickboxing
The Women’s ISKA Atom-weight World Kickboxing title under Full Contact rules was contested in Dijon, France by Maria Krivoshapkina (Russia) and Melanie Bony (France).Maria has a 10-2-0 pro record and 120-30-0 amateur record. KRUSH 18 Takiya KO’s Crooke
KRUSH 18 staged at Korakeun Hall, Tokyo on the 3rd May by Good Loser Productions, featured an international prestige match between England’s Reece Crooke and Japanese rising star Shota Takiya. Crooke on the comeback trail was trying to fight his way into the World’s top ten, Takiya was not going to give up his spot. Read more
